All FMD Users.

On the morning of Friday 22nd of May TMSi FMD Solutions will be updated to version 1.5. Improvements in FMD Solutions 1.5 include improved drug lookup capabilities, a reduction in repetitious NMVS transactions and closer integration with the latest versions of the SecurMed web services.

On this date you should update all instances of your FMD Comms installations to the latest version (1.5), which is now available for download on the Downloads & Updates page of our website, tmsinsight.com.

Due to the need for synchronicity between external services your FMD Comms application should match the version of the current release of the FMD Solutions portal. In real terms this means you should update on, or as close to, Friday 22nd May AM as possible. A mismatch between the two applications (whether newer or older) is an untested configuration that will probably fail to establish or maintain a connection.

To answer two of the most frequent questions we've been getting:

1. Yes, unfortunately this co-ordinated style of updating is necessary. The NMVS is a live service and doesn't always maintain backwards compatibility as it evolves. If we don't evolve with it with scheduled updates the service will stop working.

2. Running the updated installer should update an existing installation, there should be no need to manually uninstall. That being said there is very little difference between an update and a fresh install - you will still have to re-enter your SecurMed User ID so make sure you have it handy.

Hi everybody.

We're pleased to report that FMD Solutions 1.5 is now live. The downtime lasted approximately between 09:00 and 11:00 AM.

If you tested your update between 9 and 11 and got a no response error, please try again now. Don't experiment with your password and passphrase etc. like the error message suggested unless the problem continues to persist!

If you have not yet updated your FMD Comms application, it has probably now ceased to work properly. Now is the time to grab FMD Comms 1.5 from the downloads & updates area and get yourself up to date.

Marc, We are getting an error stating 'a general technical exception has occurred within the NMVS'. tried a reboot but no difference. Is this just a general issue or can you give us some guidance on what this really means. Thanks, steve

Hi Steven,

Take a look at your home page:

"The request was successfully sent to the NMVS but there was no response. If this happens consistently it more than likely indicates a problem with the SecurMed credentials supplied by your administrator."

It looks like your certificate expired on 03/07/2020 so your system won't have been working for a while. You need to make sure your credentials are all up to date in your Edit Dispensaries screen.

Wait... that didn't make much sense did it. Your certificates are only just expired, but I can see you have been getting that error message for a while so there must be something else wrong with your credentials. At this point you will have to renew everything - certificate, password, passphrase etc.

Hi Marc, I have done that. Still getting the same message. Im currently just looking at the Fulbourn site. Downloaded the new cert, updated the password etc on the edit dispensary screen but still same error?

I spotted that you seem to have got this back up and running soon after sending your message. Are you back up and running?

Remember you should still be getting a new certificate from SecurMed if you haven't already.

FMD Solutions Comms Setup 1.5.0.6 is now available in our Downloads & Updates area.

Unlike the major update last month this one is NOT mandatory and your setup won't stop working if you don't update, however, we think you really should as stability appears to have been improved greatly. If nothing else the larger message window is proving very popular!
